Use Scribit from ChatGPT or Claude

Attach a recording or a contract in the chat. Scribit transcribes or translates it and hands the file back, with the same credits, the same EU storage and the same integrity checks as the web app.

The endpoint

https://api.scribit.ai/mcp is a stateless, streamable-HTTP Model Context Protocol server. Point your assistant's connector settings at it directly.

  • OAuth 2.1

ChatGPT and Claude's own "connect an app" flow: you land on Scribit's consent page, sign in and approve. Manage or revoke connected apps any time from API Portal → Connected apps.

  • API key

For assistants or scripts that take a bearer token directly: an API key (tai_…) from API Portal, with whichever scopes you give it.

What the assistant can do

  • Quote a document (DOCX, PDF, TXT) before spending anything: characters, pages, detected language and estimated credits.
  • Start a transcription or a document translation.
  • Follow a job while it runs.
  • Hand back the result as a link that expires in 15 minutes.

What it does NOT do

  • The assistant never gets your Scribit token. Every call it makes runs as a 5-minute delegation, as the MCP spec requires, not a copy of your session.
  • Files are capped at 25 MB.
  • The credits spent are yours, at the same rate as the web app, and you choose the wallet: your personal credits or a team pool. Scribit never switches it for you: an empty wallet fails the job rather than silently drawing from another one.

Connect your assistant

Create a Scribit account, then connect ChatGPT or Claude (or generate an API key) from API Portal.
