By using Scribit.ai, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our service.

Acceptance of Terms

  • By accessing or using Scribit.ai, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
  • If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use our service.
  • We may modify these terms at any time, and your continued use constitutes acceptance of any changes.
  • You must be at least 18 years old to use our service.

Description of Service

  • Scribit.ai provides AI-powered audio transcription services using a multi-provider architecture.
  • Our service includes: speech-to-text transcription, speaker diarization, audio enhancement, and AI-powered text verification.
  • Transcription is performed by third-party AI providers (currently OpenAI Whisper and AssemblyAI); if a provider fails, the job is retried, it is not moved to another provider automatically.
  • The service operates on a credit-based pricing system with different tiers (FREE, PREMIUM, ENTERPRISE).
  • We strive for high accuracy (85-95% with good quality audio) but do not guarantee 100% perfect transcriptions.
  • Service availability may vary and we reserve the right to modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

User Account and Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • You may not share your account with others or create multiple accounts.

File and Content Limitations

  • Max file size: 500MB (larger files handled via chunked upload).
  • Maximum audio duration: 2 hours (120 minutes) per file.
  • Supported formats: MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG, AAC, WEBM and MP4 for audio and video; PDF, DOC, DOCX and TXT for document translation.
  • Files must meet minimum quality standards (16 kHz sample rate recommended).
  • You may be required to split larger files into smaller segments.

Prohibited Content

  • Content that is illegal, harmful, or violates applicable laws
  • Content that infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Content containing hate speech, harassment, or threats
  • Content that is pornographic or sexually explicit
  • Content that violates privacy rights of individuals
  • Malware, viruses, or malicious code
  • Content used for spamming or fraudulent activities

Payment and Refunds

  • Our service operates on a prepaid credit-based system.
  • All payments are processed securely through Stripe.
  • Credits do not expire and are non-transferable between accounts.
  • Consumers established in the EU have a statutory right of withdrawal for distance purchases, as provided by applicable consumer protection law.

  • We reserve the right to adjust pricing with 30 days advance notice.
  • Disputed charges must be reported within 30 days of the transaction.

Data and Privacy

  • Original uploaded files are deleted automatically within 30 days of processing.
  • Transcriptions and translations are kept for a period that depends on your plan, as listed in the Privacy Policy; when it ends their content is permanently deleted.
  • Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS) and every uploaded file is scanned for malware before processing.
  • Your transcription results are accessible only to you and, for work done in a team, to the members of that team.
  • We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

  • We are GDPR compliant and honor data export and deletion requests.

Service Availability and Performance

  • We strive to keep the service available at all times.
  • Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance when possible.
  • We are not liable for service interruptions caused by third-party provider outages or force majeure.
  • Processing times are typically 10-20% of the audio duration but may vary based on system load.
  • Usage limits apply, such as the number of jobs processed at the same time, depending on your plan.
  • We reserve the right to implement fair usage policies to ensure service quality for all users.

Intellectual Property

  • You retain full ownership of your original audio files and resulting transcriptions.
  • Scribit.ai retains ownership of our service, technology, platform, and intellectual property.
  • You grant us a limited, temporary license to process your audio files solely for transcription purposes.
  • You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or redistribute our service or technology.
  • Our trademarks, logos, and brand elements may not be used without prior written permission.

Disclaimers and Limitations

  • Our service is provided 'as is' without warranties of any kind.
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of transcriptions.
  • You use our service at your own risk and discretion.
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service.
  • Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.

Termination

  • You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us.
  • We may terminate or suspend your account for violation of these terms.
  • Upon termination, your access to the service will cease immediately.
  • We will delete your account data according to our data retention policy.
  • Unused credits are generally not refundable upon termination.

Governing Law and Disputes

  • These terms are governed by the laws of Italy and the European Union.
  • Any disputes will be resolved through good faith negotiation or mediation.
  • If resolution is not possible, disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of Italian courts.
  • Users have rights under applicable consumer protection laws.
  • GDPR rights are preserved for all EU users.
